Opening Day

So it's finally here, Opening Day. I'm sitting at work watching the beloved Cubbies take on the Diamondbacks down in PHX. So far so good, as they scored two in the top half of the first inning. I'm thinking the way they opened this game might be a sign of what to expect from this revamped Cubs offense. All hits were singles, the first RBI was on a Nomar groundout, and good baserunning from Corey. Last year's Cubs team swung for the fences at every opportunity. In this instance, the Cubbies relied on good contact hitting to produce some runs. I like it.

Well having gotten the OD update out of the way, maybe I should tell you a little more about myself. I'm originally from Chicago and have been a Cub fan for as far back as I can remember. I moved to Puerto Rico in my teen years but was able to follow the team on WGN. Now after college I moved back to the Chi and continue to bleed Cubbie blue to this day.

I got the idea for this blog after stumbling upon a number of Cubs blogs, notably the Cubs Blog Army and thecubdom.com. The plan is to keep a daily log of my favorite baseball team and post thoughts about them, as well as sports and life in general. There'll be some rants, raves, some analysis, and maybe some incoherent ramblngs now and then. In essence a little bit of everything.

This is my first blog so it may not be very polished at first. Some posts will just be random thoughts and ramblings. But I'll try to keep it entertaining and lively.

Till next time....
